"On September 10, 1946, during a train ride from Calcutta to Darjeeling, Mother Teresa received 'an inspiration,' which she later described as a 'call within a call.' Jesus' thirst for love and for souls became so distinctively clear that from then on an ardent longing to satiate His thirst took complete possession of her heart. By means of interior locutions and visions, Jesus revealed to her the desire of His heart for 'victims of love' who would 'radiate His love on souls.' He revealed His pain at the way the poor were neglected, His sorrow at their ignorance of Him, and His longing--His thirst--for their love. He pleaded with her: 'My little one--come--come--carry Me into the holes of the poor.--Come be My light.--I cannot go alone--they don't know Me--so they don't want Me. You come--go amongst them, carry Me with you into them.--How I long to enter their holes--their dark unhappy homes.'" Fr. Brian Kolodiejchuk, Ed., "Jesus is My All and All"
Lord, may I be a 'victim of Your love' that 'radiates' that love in the 'holes of the poor' and unloved.
